On August 17th, a group of Harley Davidson motorcycles rode to Southern Pines Healthcare Center to visit our veterans. Our residents were waiting on the front porch for their arrival.
The Rolling Thunder Group came and honored our men and women who are veterans. It was a special day for Louis Tienken because it was his 90th birthday.
Louis was a POW for over 13 months. The Rolling Thunder’s gave Louis the following items for his years as a POW:
- The Ride Home 2015 Medallion.
- Ride Home 2015 Pin – 1 bronze colored pin depicting the POW under guard.
- Colored Beads – the multicolored one represents the WWII Victory medal and the black and white one represents the POW Medal.
- Lapel Pin – American Flag and POW/MIA Flag with the POW/MIA Logo in the middle.
- POW / MIA Ball Cap.
