Celebrate Mexico

Southern Pines Healthcare Center is celebrating a monthly theme with activities that reflect traditions and celebrations of different countries. Our first country to celebrate was Mexico.

Our patients made “Gods Eyes”. Originally, “God’s Eyes” were made to be placed on an altar so that the gods could watch over the praying people and protect them. They are now more often sold in markets, reminding us that God looks with love on people everywhere.

Our patients played a variation of bingo during the month called Amigo Bingo.

We also had local dancers, The Hudson Stompers perform. They are a local group whose them just happened to be Mexican songs.

Next month, we will be celebrating Germany.
